What’s CSI All About?

CSI is a hub for social innovation, offering shared workspaces, community events, and mentorship to individuals and organizations with a mission to change the world. With two locations in Toronto, CSI supports over 3,000 members, including social purpose organizations, nonprofits, and early-stage ventures. But that’s not all—they also provide critical services to help social innovators thrive, from dedicated workspaces to financial and strategic support.

And its work doesn’t stop there. CSI incubates several social enterprises, offering a comprehensive suite of services to help them scale and amplify their impact.

Recent CSI Initiatives

• Climate Ventures, CSI h: An environmental incubator launched in 2018, Climate Ventures focuses on using entrepreneurial solutions to tackle the climate crisis. As of 2021, they’ve accelerated 121 early-stage entrepreneurs, creating a community of change agents dedicated to addressing environmental challenges.

• Adopting Common Measures: In partnership with the Canadian Community Economic Development Network (CCEDNet), they’ve led a national project to help Social Purpose Organizations measure and track their impact on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This three-year initiative is an important step in ensuring accountability in the social sector.

• CSI Accelerates: This program is designed to fast-track early-stage ventures, providing them with the knowledge, resources, and connections necessary to succeed. CSI brings together changemakers, offering accelerator programs and innovation labs that foster growth and social impact.
